Indigenous Services

Whether you are new to the city, or new to St. Lawrence College, the transition to post-secondary education can sometimes be overwhelming.

You are not alone! Our Indigenous Advisors help students succeed by providing support throughout their entire College journey.

  • Introduce you to other College staff who can help with your specific needs

  • Help you get connected to your community services and resources

  • Give you information about social and cultural events, employment opportunities, and other things that are relevant to Indigenous peoples

  • Give you information about Indigenous bursaries, scholarships, and other funding opportunities, including band funding

  • Introduce you to other Indigenous students, especially upper year students who can be mentors to new students

Tri-Campus

Indigenous Counselling services are available across all three campuses, supporting Indigenous students’ unique needs by providing dedicated spaces, assisting with College life transitions and by bringing awareness and experiential knowledge of cross-cultural needs and advocating for the needs of Indigenous learners to support their success.

The Indigenous Counsellor will also support and deliver cultural programming and support to faculty, including cultural protocols, spaces and practices, to ensure understanding for student academic success.
