Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
This four-year baccalaureate program is offered in collaboration with Laurentian University and prepares graduates to practice according to the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) competencies for entry-level Registered Nurse practice. All four years of the program are offered on campus at St. Lawrence College.

Fitness and Health Promotion

Health Information Management
HIM professionals work with personal health records, capturing and encoding patient information, analyzing data, upholding patient’s privacy and preparing statistical reports for use in health care delivery, research, and education.

Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician
As important members of the health care team, they interact directly with patients, perform ECGs and collect blood samples for laboratory analysis. Inside the laboratory, they assist other professionals by sorting and preparing samples for testing, operate laboratory equipment, perform basic laboratory testing under supervision, and manage data in computers. Includes placement. Qualify to write the Medical Laboratory Professionals’ Association of Ontario (MLPAO) and the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) certification exams for Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician.

Medical Laboratory Science
Medical Laboratory Technologists conduct sophisticated diagnostic tests on blood, body fluids and tissues to provide important information used in detecting illness and monitoring health. Enjoy a rewarding career using skills to measure chemical components in blood and body fluids, detect diseases in blood cells, perform blood typing and cross-matching for blood transfusion, detect and identify infections caused by bacteria and fungi, and prepare surgical and autopsy tissues for analysis. Qualify to write the general certificate exams of the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science.

Qualified graduates may pursue a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) at Queen’s University and will receive credit for four courses (12 units) toward the degree.

Registered Nurse Critical Care Nursing (Graduate Certificate)
Critical care nurses are responsible for the most vulnerable patients, in the most acute care environments. Those working in critical care are expected to monitor, assess and treat critically ill patients and thus must have an in-depth knowledge base and skill level related to the conditions, treatments and environments in which these patients are cared for.

Veterinary Assistant
You will develop surgical support techniques, safe handling skills, perform physical examinations at the local Humane Society, perform dog grooming, and operate the ‘Scruffy Dog Salon’ on campus. Includes 120-hour field placement.
