Autism & Behavioural Science (Graduate Certificate)
You’ll learn to use a variety of evidence-based approaches to develop the skills to support those with Autism Spectrum Disorder by reviewing relevant literature, developing intervention plans, implementing behaviour change programs, facilitating group programming, and more. Emphasis is on the understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis. Two field placements.

Behavioural Science
Learn how to work front-line with a variety of individuals to improve lives and meet treatment goals. Studying Applied Behaviour Analysis and related techniques, students learn how to design and implement interventions to teach skills to clients and/or to manage challenging behaviours. Field placements allow you to apply the leaned skills to real-world learning experiences.

You’ll be prepared to work in an assistive capacity with Speech-Language Pathologists or Audiologists in a variety of service settings. This four-year program combines 1,100 hours of supervised placement in three different community settings. You’ll learn about psychological theory and research, practice clinical skills (under supervision) in a wide variety of field settings.

Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training
Following the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001 Firefighter I & II standard, NPFA 1072, NFPA 1035 and NPFA 1006 (Chapter 5) this program blends theory, lab practice, and field experience. You will perform fire related duties at a considerable height or in very confined spaces in preparation for entry into the firefighting profession. A firefighter training tower on campus provides you with the opportunity to gain practical skills.
